This is heartwarming.

In this video, the parents of Zane – now eight years old – tell their story of how CPR not only saved Zane’s life, it also saved him from brain damage:

It all began when Zane was doing swimming lessons at day care.

All was going fine until Zane was found at the bottom of the pool unconscious. It was later discovered he had been under the water for four whole minutes.

Lucky Andrew the lifeguard was on duty.

Andrew acted fast and performed CPR.

And do you want to know something? Andrew the lifeguard was only sixteen years old!

It was a terrifying ordeal

At the time, Zanes parents were unaware of what was happening.

They only found out something was wrong when Zanes Dad got a call from the fire chief, informing him that Zane was in hospital and not breathing.

So you can imagine how terrifying this was for Zanes parents.

But Zane made a full recovery

In any case Zane ended up making a full recovery. And Zanes parents are adamant that if it wasn’t for Andrew, Zane could very well have died, or at least suffered brain damage.

Zane is now eight years old.

He goes to school.

He plays football.

And he even chases girls!

Zane can now live a full life due to CPR.

You too can help others recover with CPR

If a sixteen year old can save someone using CPR, then anybody can.

And even if you don’t save a life, you can still prevent someone from getting something like brain damage.

All you need to do is complete one of my fun and easy CPR courses, which you can do in your own time.

If you already know CPR, then please tells others about the importance of CPR, and share this video with as many of your friends as possible.

Zanes parents are now raising awareness of the importance of CPR, and you can too!

CPR and AED Saves a Basketball Players LIfe https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/cpr-and-aed-saves-a-basketball-players-life/ Wed, 03 Jun 2015 17:46:29 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1664

A heart attack can happen at anytime.

Just ask Tony Gilyard:

Tony was in the middle of a church basketball game where everything seemed fine. That was, until he suffered a sudden heart attack.

Luckily for Tony, two of the other players reacted fast. They administered CPR and used an AED. And due to this quick reaction they got Tony’s heart going again.

But here is the thing: they had an AED on hand to save Tony’s life. If they didn’t have an AED, Tony would have died.

This is scary when you think about it.

I believe it should be mandatory to have an AED on hand at all times. Whether it’s at a church, sports stadium, workplace, school, or any other place, you never know when one might be needed to save someones life.

You can just ask Tony’s wife, Rita. She was so pleased that Tony’s life was saved (as expected), that she herself is spreading the word about the importance of AED’s.

Would you like to learn how to save a life using an AED?

If you want to be able to save a life, you can take one of my upcoming first aid classes that will teach you CPR and AED. They are convenient, fun and affordable.

If you already do know how to use AED devices, then why don’t you spread the word about the importance of AED’s, just like Tonys wife?

As the video shows, heart attacks do happen, and AED’s do save lives.

Please see my upcoming classes or you can schedule a custom class.

A Real Life CPR Situation at Huntington Beach https://kellicline.com/uncategorized/a-real-life-cpr-situation-at-huntington-beach/ Tue, 14 Apr 2015 19:45:34 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1640

This video is a tragic story, but still highlights the importance of CPR and first aid:

A surfer at Huntington Beach was found drowned in the water by another swimmer, and the life guards were called.

The lifeguards reacted quickly.

First, they tried CPR and mouth to mouth resuscitation, but it wasn’t working in this instance. They then put him on a backboard to transport him to advanced care.

Unfortunately, the man did not make it. He had swallowed too much water and died a few days later.

But these lifeguards were all well trained as you see in the video. They did all they could to save his life using CPR, and if there was any chance this man could have survived the ordeal he most definitely would have.

Plus, it was a high pressure situation.

What would you have done in such a situation?

You never know when you’ll face a situation like this. But when you do, you’ll want to be equipped with the skills to handle it.

This video was a real life situation of using CPR in an emergency, and even though this man died, CPR does save lives.

If you’ve already taken my courses, then please share this video and tell as many people as you can about how important CPR and first aid are.

Save a life through AED training https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/save-a-life-through-aed-training/ Tue, 03 Mar 2015 14:42:07 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1368

How would you like to save a life?

This short video just goes to show the importance of AED training:

While in Biology class 17 year old Abbiskek Chintapalli suffered a life threatening situation. He collapsed onto the floor and his heart began beating too quickly to bring blood to the rest of his body. Everyone was panicking and his teacher thought he was having a seizure.

Luckily for him an AED was run into the classroom by a custodian, and using their AED training, the nurses were able to save his life.

But just imagine what this guys fate would have been had no one known how to use an AED?

Or better still, imagine you were there and you did know how to use an AED?

You alone could be the one to save this guys life!

And do you want to know something scary?

Not all schools in the United states have AED’s, and if Abbiskek had of been in one of those schools, he probably would have died.

This is something that must be changed. It should be mandatory to place AED’s in schools all around the country.

It only needs to save one life to make it all worthwhile.

So for those who have previously taken my courses I hope this emphasizes the importance of knowing how to use an AED. I hope you now know that your AED training can indeed save lives.

And for those who haven’t taken my classes then what are you waiting for? A human life is too precious to waste.

5 Year Old Boy Saves Dad From Insulin Shock https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/5-year-old-boy-saves-dad-from-insulin-shock/ Fri, 30 Jan 2015 23:01:57 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1438

Check out this amazing and heart-warming story:

It all began when five year old Jude Steffans noticed his dad was sleeping in a bit later than usual, so he went to wake him up.

At this point he realized something was seriously wrong.

It turned out Jude’s dad – who suffered from type 1 diabetes – had gone into insulin shock.

But five year old Jude acted quickly.

He immediately started feeding his dad sugar from a juice bag, then got more juices from the refrigerator to give his dad even more sugar.

Jude then found the phone and called for help, but by the time help arrived his dad was already saved.

This boy is now a hero to his dad.

Why don’t you be a hero too?

You too can be a hero if you learn first aid.

Maybe you have diabetic relatives who could pass out when you are with them. Or diabetic friends. Or anyone at all.

What would you do? You wouldn’t want them to die would you?

Learning first aid will teach you exactly what you need to do to save their life, and more.

Why don’t you learn first aid?

It can be so simple to save a life once you know how, and that’s why it’s so important to learn first aid.

So if you haven’t taken one of my first aid courses yet, then why not?

And if you’ve already completed my first aid courses, why aren’t you spreading the word about this beautiful story and the importance of saving a life? The more people who know first aid the more lives can be saved.

Co-workers Save a Mans Life with CPR https://kellicline.com/cpr-stories/co-workers-save-a-mans-life-with-cpr/ Sun, 28 Dec 2014 18:12:25 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1442

If you suffer a heart attack at work, you better hope your co-workers know CPR.
Luckily for Gene Rork this was exactly the case when he suffered a sudden heart attack on the job at his metal factory:

Gene’s coworkers responded immediately. First his plant manager and another worker performed CPR. Second an AED defibrillator machine was rushed over. And because of all this Gene’s life was saved.

How Important is knowing CPR to you?

This all goes to show the importance of knowing first aid and CPR.

A heart attack can happen anywhere at any time. It can happen to your co-workers, friends, family, or even a stranger.

In fact, Gene himself had just recently gone for a medical checkup and all was fine. But because his co-workers knew CPR Gene is still with us today and forever grateful, so much that he wants to learn first aid himself!

That’s right. Someone saved Gene’s life, and now Gene wants to save someone else’s life.

Would you like to be able to save a life too?

It’s great to be able to save someones life, and you can too if you take one of my fun first aid courses. Details are below.

Have you already taken my courses? Then you can spread the word about how important it is to know first aid – you only need to help save a single life to make it all worthwhile.

As for Gene, he returned to work just two weeks later and his co-workers are ecstatic to see him back alive and well. It’s just great to see the happiness that first aid knowledge can bring when you save someones life.

HS Football Player Saved by CPR and AED https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/football-player-saved-by-cpr-and-aed/ https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/football-player-saved-by-cpr-and-aed/#comments Sun, 30 Nov 2014 23:43:33 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1447

I love videos like this.

They show how fast the unexpected can happen and how important it is for you to know CPR and to have a defibrillator on hand at all times.

It was the last game of the high school football season and Jesse Wood had just scored his first ever touchdown!

It was a moment of celebration. A moment of pure joy. That is, until Jesse suddenly collapsed on the ground and later stopped breathing.

His two trainers acted fast.

One trainer ran to get the defibrillator, while the other began CPR, and through their first aid knowledge they brought Jesse back to life.

Jesse is now making a fine recovery. And do you want to know the best thing of all? Jesse still remembers his first touchdown!

Could you bring someone back to life?

This sort of training is standard for football trainers who are likely to encounter such life or death situations.

But what if you yourself encountered such a situation?

Would you be able to save a life if someone collapsed near you?

Most people wouldn’t know what to do.

But just imagine that one day somebody collapsed around you, and you knew exactly what to do!

You’d be the only one who knew how to save this persons life.

Can you imagine how this would feel?

That’s why it’s so important for everyone to know first aid, which I can teach you in one of my courses.

And for those of you who’ve already done my first aid courses, please tell as many people as possible the importance of knowing what to do in emergency situations like these.

Firefighter Saves Mans Life in a Bar https://kellicline.com/cpr-stories/firefighter-saves-mans-life-in-a-bar/ https://kellicline.com/cpr-stories/firefighter-saves-mans-life-in-a-bar/#comments Mon, 03 Nov 2014 17:09:41 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1450

Man Having Heart Attack Saved by CPR

Just imagine this:

You’re in a bar, having a drink with friends. Maybe it’s your birthday. Maybe it’s someone else’s birthday. Maybe it’s a farewell. Or maybe it’s just a night out. Whatever the situation, you’re having a great time, when suddenly another person in the bar collapses.

What would you do?

This is exactly what Tony – a firefighter – experienced when he was out celebrating his birthday. The night was going well, until 83 year old Don Rosie collapsed.

Watch the video here.

What better way to celebrate your birthday than to save a life?

Don Rosie was out for 15 minutes.

No breathing. No heartbeat. No life at all.

But with his CPR &  first aid training in the fire department, Tony was able to save the day.

Tony rushed over, and was joined by four others who also knew CPR: two other firefighters, an army veteran, and an ER nurse.

Over ten minutes later Don was alive and breathing again, and Tony was applauded by the rest of the people in the bar.

Tony says: “This guy couldn’t have picked a better time to have a massive heart attack”.

Indeed.

What if there was no one in the bar who knew CPR? Would Don still have survived?

Could you bring someone back to life?

Don is now back to his usual self again, and he and his family are forever grateful there were people around who knew CPR.

What about you? Do you know CPR?

If you’ve completed one of my CPR training courses you can save someone’s life with CPR.

12 Year Old Saves Brother with Heimlich Maneuver https://kellicline.com/heimlich-manuever/12-year-old-saves-brothers-life-with-heimlich-maneuver/ Mon, 31 Mar 2014 15:28:02 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1321

It’s videos like this that melt the heart.

Choking from hard food items, balloons and other foreign objects is the number one cause of death for children.

But using a simple technique commonly called the Heimlich Maneuver, now referred to as “abdominal thrusts”, 12 year old Bryan was able to save his little brothers life when he began choking on – of all things – a piece of hard candy.

Please take the two minutes to watch this wonderful and true story!

The Heimlich Maneuver is effective, easy to learn, and saves 50,000 lives each year.

It feels good to save a child’s life, doesn’t it?  But how would you feel if a child in your vicinity started choking on something, and you had no idea what to do? All because you never learned this simple technique?

How would you live with yourself if this child died?

Choking can happen at any time, often when you least expect it.  But previous students of my certified CPR and First Aid classes are highly equipped to deal with this horrific situation.

So how about you? Would you be prepared if a child started choking in front of you? If not, why haven’t you taken one of my classes that will teach you this maneuver and other life saving techniques?

What is the life of a child worth to you?

And for previous students of my classes, are you spreading the word about this technique and how to learn it? are you letting your friends and family know? You could very well save a life!

“Must Know” Warning Signs of Heart Attack https://kellicline.com/cpr-certification-classes/must-know-warning-signs-of-heart-attack/ Fri, 17 Aug 2012 04:47:36 +0000 https://kellicline.com/?p=1130

A high school student saves this mans life with CPR… and then check out what happens with his wife:

Men & Women heart attacks can be different. Do you know what to look for?

Take 10 minutes here and find out. You may save someone’s or your own life as a result.

Some heart attacks are sudden and intense where no one doubts what’s happening.

But most heart attacks start slowly, with mild pain or discomfort. Often people affected aren’t sure what’s wrong and wait too long before getting help.

Here are signs that can mean a heart attack is happening:

  • Chest discomfort

Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.

  • Discomfort in other areas of the upper body

Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.

  • Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.

Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

  • Women’s symptoms may be different

As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly: shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting, back or jaw pain, pressure or pain in the lower chest or upper abdomen, dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting, upper back pressure or extreme fatigue.

Even when the signs are subtle, the consequences can be deadly, especially if the victim doesn’t get help right away.

“I thought I had the flu”

Even though heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, women often chalk up the symptoms to less life-threatening conditions like acid reflux, the flu or normal aging.

Nieca Goldberg, M.D., medical director for the Joan H. Tisch Center for Women’s Health at NYU’s Langone Medical Center states: “They do this because they are scared and because they put their families first.  There are still many women who are shocked that they could be having a heart attack.”

If you have any of these signs, don’t wait more than five minutes before calling for help. Call 9-1-1 and get to a hospital right away.

I’ve given a link at the bottom of this page for more “Warning Signs of a Heart Attack” information.
